I was inspired by the appearance of frost on plants. I was fascinated by the unique patterns of the ice crystals of frost and how it outlines each leaf as if it was decorating it. Frost is formed when the surface of the plant is colder than the surrounding humid air outlining the edge. The process of which my brooches were created was inspired by this process but in reverse, by heating up the edge of the hammer formed sheet metal.
